Today was our first day of walking around the city and Professor Kaufman led us on a tour through shrines, tea shops, and downtown markets...

Sara, me, and Jenna. Imamiya Shrine, Kyoto.

Look closely at the top right of this photo and you will notice a man plucking pine needles off of this tree. Here in Japan, the more stylized nature is, the better.

Sake vats at one of the shrines.

Then we went through an open-air food market...

Fish!
No clue.
Sweets.
Live eel!
Then we visited Gallery Gallery, where Prof. Kaufman's friends run an art space. There was a fabric show...

This piece was interactive...
Me and Jenna with scarves from the piece.
Dinner: Moving track Sushi... Here is Clay and Prof. Kaufman.
